What to wear

Beginners

For the beginners’ fencing course, you should wear tracksuit bottoms (thick), trainers (Hi-Tec Squash or indoor shoes are ideal) and a T-shirt. We provide the rest of the equipment.

Intermediates

At a minimum, the only piece of fencing kit you need to buy to participate in the intermediate fencing course is a pair of breaches (fencing trousers). We will lend you the rest of the equipment for the duration of your course. The British Fencing safety requirement for electric fencing is breaches offering 350N protection; these are also required by the club for insurance purposes. 350N breaches are cheaper than 800N and are what most of us at the club wear.
